Booths

Alpine Days will feature a variety of booths at The Tent in downtown Alpine on Saturday,  August 8th.  The booths will feature information, crafts, and many other items of interest.

Please come see of the special things from our residents. The food booths will be set up along Center Street and the craft and information booths will be set up in the park behind City Hall all around the tent.

 

Car Show

CLASSIC CAR "SHOW-OFF" (FREE)
9 AM to 2 PM, Saturday August 8th

Come join us for the 4th Annual Alpine Days Classic Car “Show-Off”. Laura Potter has been working hard to give us this opportunity to see what special vehicles Alpine residents have stowed away in their garages. There will be no judging, just a chance for our Alpine neighbors to see some great automobiles. Do you have an old car that you're proud of and would like to "Show-Off"? There still may be some time to get it into the show. The registered owner must be an Alpine resident.

Registration forms may be picked up and dropped off at  Alpine City Hall, 20 North Main street or by calling Laura Potter at 756-6725. Registration must be completed by Thursday, August 6th.


Family Night Bowling Tournament

Times assigned at signup’s starting at 5:00 PM
Cost: $10.00 a person for 3 games and shoes. $7.00 for children bowling 2 games.

Meet at Jack & Jill Bowling Ally (105 South 700 East, American Fork) on Monday, August 3rd at 5:00 Be there early so your ready to bowl. Bowl as families or groups. This will be fun!

Prize Categories:
Senior men’s and women’s 60+, Adult men’s and women’s 18-59, Teen boys and girls 12-17, Children’s no bumpers up to 11, Treats for bumper bowlers. To Pre-register or for more information in becoming a sponsor or donating prizes, contact Carrie Pearce at 473-8641 or 756-1474.

 

Hike to Lake Hardy (FREE)

On Friday, August 7th our own Mayor Willoughby will be leading a hike to Lake Hardy for those interested in an exhilarating climb up the mountain.

The hike will begin from the trail head in Alpine Cove at 5:30 AM and plan on returning about 3:00 PM. Plan on about a 5 to 6 hour hike up and a 3 to 4 our decent down (The Mayor claims he can make it up in 3 hours and down in 2 hours, anybody want to race him?)

Alpine Days Golf Tournament

Place: Cedar Hills Golf Course

First Tee Time: 8:00 AM, Shotgun Start,

Format: 2 Man, Best Ball Scramble
            Two person team, Each player plays from the best ball chosen of the two played balls. Each team must use one drive of each player from the front nine and one from the back nine. Each team must use one putt of each player from the front nine and one from the back nine

Cost: $45.00 per player/$90.00 per team. Price includes 18 holes w/ cart, lunch and prizes. ($53.00 per person after July 31st)

Prizes: Closest to the Pin, Longest Drive:
(1), First Place Team, Cash Prize $150, ($75 per player)
            Team with the overall lowest score
(1) Second Place Team, Cash Prize $50 ($25 per player),
            Team with the second overall lowest score
(1) Midpoint Place Team, Cash Prize $150 ($75 per player)
            Midpoint Team. The Midpoint team shall be determined by the number of teams divided by 2 then taking the team that has the lowest score of the higher half of high score teams. If there are an odd number of teams, then the middle odd team shall be the Midpoint Team.
Example: If there are 36 teams then the Midpoint team would be the team that scored in the 18 position. (36 divided by 2 is 18). If there are 37 teams, the Midpoint Team would be 37 divided by 2 equals 18.5 so the Midpoint Team would be team that is in the 19 position.

Mulligan’s and Handicap Helping: Sorry, this year there will be no mulligan’s or licorice ropes. People keep saying how good they are, we want to find out if this is true or not

Golf Shirt/Pullover: If you would like a golf tournament shirt, there is an additional fee of $18.00 (the shirts are more expensive than this but we are receiving a discount on them because of the number of Tee shirts we order for Alpine Days).

Sponsors: we are looking for sponsors for each hole. Sponsors will have their named placed on a sign a designated hole for recognition. Sponsors help pay for prizes and goodies for the tournament. Cost is $165 per sponsor (each sponsor receives one team entry fee).

Evening of Storytelling

Seasoned performer and Alpine Resident Marvin Payne will be enlightening the audience with pioneer tales and stories of Old Alpine in our celebration of the Moyle Family. Bring your lawn chairs and your blanket for a wonderful evening in Legacy Park at the Gazebo.

Children's Pet Show August 5th & 6th

We split up the dogs from the cats for two different days. Come and show off your dog, tell us what makes your dog special and win prizes and treats.  Please have your dog on a leash. Please bring your plastic bags for cleanup as well. With so many dogs, we need to think of others and it is helpful to restrain your dog so it will not bother any other pets. Children 12 years and younger will rotate through game stations; water slide, fire truck hose, and more. No one under 5 years will be admitted without supervision. Every child will receive a popsicle to enjoy during the event!

* Mutton Busting & Steer Riding are entry fee events: $10.00 per contestant.
* The Rodeo Committee recommends wearing bike helmets for both the Steer Riding and Mutton Busting this will be at parent’s digressions.
* The Alpine Rodeo Committee will provide steer riding protective vests for Steer Riders.

Children participating in the mutton busting & steer riding need to be present when registering for the event to be weighed.

Mutton Busting should be 5 years old or under and no more than 50 pounds in weight
.

Steer riders need to be 12-18 years of age and must weigh at least 100 pounds up to 150 pounds max.

 

Youth Outdoor Dance

Music outdoors under the big tent. This year the music will be provided by Audio Visions. Ages 14 to 18. No alcohol or tobacco.

Mountain Bike Race

7:00 AM, 200 N 100 E. (arrive 45 minutes early)
Cost: $15.00 Expert and Sport (late registration cost $20.00)
$5.00 kids 12 & under (late registration cost $10.00)

Price includes t-shirt, and a prize if you stay for the awards ceremony afterwards.

The Sport and Beginners race will begin on 200 N 100 E, in front of the Red Church. The race will end at the LDS North Stake Center. 1125 East Alpine Blvd.

The Expert race will be held exclusively in Lambert Park.

The ride will be approximately 200 miles and with lunch take around 6 hours. There will be a charge for lunch.

Pre-registration fee $5 or $7 day of the race. 

Start and finish at City Hall. Trophies to top male and female finishers.  Individual trophies also to top three places in each age category.

Around the Block Trot starts and finishes at City Hall. Individual awards to every participant. Registration times are the same as for the 5K Run/Walk. Pre-registration fee is $2; race day fee is $3. Call Mike Evans (756-7820). Purchase tickets at City Hall.

Alpine Days Parade
Saturday, August 8th

10 AM, Downtown.

Enjoy this years theme as you watch your friends and neighbors in this years parade.  This year the parade will start from the LDS Stake Center on Canyon Crest Road and end at Alpine Elementary School.  Entry forms are available at City Hall. During the line-up time, Canyon Crest Road will temporarily be turned into a one-way street.  Access to Canyon Crest Road will not be allowed at Alpine Hwy (Main Street), Ridge Drive, or Cascade/Sierra Ave.  Residents should be prepared to use alternate streets coming to and from their homes during this time.  Access to and from Paradise Lane and Carlisle Ave will be allowed but please observe the one-way direction.  Road closures will be in effect approximately 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Where: Mountainville Chapel (Red Brick Church, 165 North 100 East). Please come to the Mountainville Chapel for a wonderful and diverse show. Registration and check-in for participants is Thursday August 6th from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at the Mountainville Chapel. All entries need to be picked up by Saturday at 5:00 PM or they will be left unattended.
General guidelines for all Alpine Arts Council shows: Alpine Arts Council is not responsible for lost or damaged materials.  The exhibit will be monitored by a host at all times.

     Quilt and Textile Show
Only pieced quilts are accepted.  Antique quilts are welcome.  Please bring a written background about the quilt to display with the entry if possible.  As usual we look forward to your new creations in pieced quilts, knitting, embroidery, weaving, cross-stitch, etc.  No more than four quilts per person.  Please call Paula McKinlay, 756-0163 or Sherry Boren,  360-0211 for questions and details about this enjoyable show.

     Art Show, “Beauty of our World”

Enjoy a spectacular fireworks show by FireWorks West. Bring chairs or blankets and relax on the grass with your family and friends.

Limited parking this year so be prepared to walk. Please be considerate of homes in the area.
