Alpine Baseball - registration for the 2008 season is officially underway.  Although Alpine Baseball is neither related to, nor officially sponsored by the City of Alpine, we use the baseball complex at Burgess Park for our games, and our league boundaries (as defined by our affiliation with Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth Baseball) are identical to the boundaries of the City ---- thus our name!

We offer the following as part of Cal Ripken Baseball, and players must reside within Alpine City boundaries.  Players who reside in Highland should contact the Highland Cal Ripken League for information regarding their program.  For those interested and who meet the competitive criteria, there are post-season tournaments for ages 8 and up.

• T-Ball for all interested children ages 4-5
• Coach Pitch for children ages 5-6
• Kid/Coach Pitch for ages 7-8 (this is called Double A)
• Kid Pitch -- almost pure baseball for ages 9-11 (Triple A)
• Majors -- the real thing! -- for ages 10-12 (this is a pretty competitive bunch)

We also offer Babe Ruth Baseball for players who reside in Alpine, Highland and Cedar Hills, ages 13-15 (as of April 30, 2008).  This is a great program for the competitive player, but we also have lots of fun playing the REAL game!  Babe Ruth post-season tournament play is also available.

Back for 2008 will be the very successful and popular Lone Peak Baseball Training Camp, conducted by former MLB players who live in our area, along with the players and coaches from the High School Team.  Information on this event is available with your Alpine Baseball Registration Form.

Alpine Cheerleading - Tryouts will be held for the 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th grade squads on April 4th-6th from 4:00 - 5:30pm at Lone Peak High School. There is a $15.00 tryout fee. Contact Roberta Richey (772-0505) or Kim Matheson (756-4895) with any questions.
